"Early in my career, I had a business coach that said if you want to be considered an expert in your field, you need to write a book.  I didn’t think tenant representation was that exciting so it took me years to find a need where I might help.  After a period of time in business, friends, clients, people in the industry recommend that young people reach out to you to learn about your business.  Real estate is a big field and during those meetings it would take more than half of the meeting time to explain each product and services for that product.  I have a good friend that is the editor of DCEO and we talked about the idea for the book and she encouraged me to write it.  So, I started with the chapter I knew about most Tenant Rep then on to landlord rep.  There was a young lady in our office that worked at JLL but wanted to get into either tenant rep or landlord rep.  I gave her the drafts of those chapters and she came back in the next day and said I want to work as a landlord rep.  It seemed to be of value."
